About

I’m Tristan Kemitzis, and I partner with early stage founders to clarify and optimize their finances. Why? I believe in data-driven decisions. I ran FP&A at Eataly through Covid and an acquisition – key to our success were dynamic, scenario-based modeling frameworks to accelerate iterative and data-based decisions. No more tedious back-of-the-envelope math around your financials — quick, confident decisions means you spend that time saved building your business… and edging out your competitors.

Some Context on Me

I'm a first-generation San Francisco native with a Spanish background, and am fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian (albeit broken). I graduated from UCLA with honors in Business Economics and Entrepreneurship, and spent the next 5 years at Eataly where I combined my love for food and business. After time in NYC & LA, I began to drive the growth and profitability strategy for the company’s highest-grossing region in North America (West Coast), pioneered a successful new mold for our in-store finance team structures, and templatized a scalable financial framework for new store openings, ultimately leading to an offer to formalize a corporate strategic finance team for the company's development arm. These successes and more culminated in the company’s PE acquisition towards the end of 2022, priming Eataly for further comprehensive global growth.

Continued growth at Eataly was tempting, but I was looking for a new challenge and had the risk appetite to take a shot on goal. So, I took it. Time and time again I see companies sitting on a wealth of data that lays idle → I build tools that harvest impact from this data, that turn this data into decisions. The fundraising climate is an immense challenge for the foreseeable future, but building a financial backbone to weather the storm doesn't have to be.
